I hope all of you are having fun playing with the mod!
This QoL Overhaul mod aims at giving a new life to Dark Souls III by changing, improving, and adding new features to the game, all while staying vanilla-friendly.
Some of the feature are weapons and progression rebalancing, a ring to restore FP over time, Classic DS1 Poise, and much more!
If you are enjoying the mod, please endorse it to show support and track it for future updates!
Here's a detailed list of what this mod does and how.
Dark Souls 1 Poise
Added a Dark Souls 1 like poise system at all tiers of armour.
You can check a demonstration in the Video tab of the mod here on Nexus.
Keep in mind that the poise value displayed on armours refers to the vanilla hyper-armour feature, not the DS1-Poise. Generally with my mod, the heavier the armour, the higher the DS1-Poise.
All Weapons are now buffable
This includes infused weapons, special weapons and boss weapons.
They can be infused both with spells and resins.
This also applies for shields.
Bows, Arrows, Bolts, Throwable Rework
Much increased range.
Much increased projectile speed.
And even a slight homing to arrows and bolts that helps with tracking moving enemies!
Additionally, you can now carry up to 250 ammunition compared to the 99 of the base game.
Bolts and Crossbows now deal much more damage than arrows, but drain more stamina.
Throwable items now also have a homing on target, are faster and have more range.
Covenant Equippable Items Rework
All Covenants Insignias now grant a passive effect when equipped. The effect is also shown in the description (English only):
Warriors of Sunlight (Increases lightning damage)
Way of Blue (Increases HP and FP)
Blue Sentinels (Increases Stamina and equip load)
Blades of the Darkmoon (FP Regen)
Rosaria's Fingers (Increases soul gain)
Mound-Maker (Increases physical damage)
Watchdogs of Farron (Decreases Stamina Consumption)
Aldrich Faithful (Increases magic, fire, dark damage)
Spears of the Church (HP Regen)
Increased lock-on distance
The lock-on distance has been increased substantially compared to the base game.
Hexes now work similarly to Dark Souls 2. Here's a detailed list of the features:
Offensive Hexes now deal physical damage alongside dark damage.
Heretic's Staff, Archdeacon Great Staff, and Saint-tree Bellvine now scale on Faith and Intelligence, powering up Hexes.
Hexes now require both Faith and Intelligence.
Dark Sorceries are now as fast as regular Sorceries.
Deep soul is now available from the start at Shrine Handmaid's.
Great Deep Soul is now a Transposing spell from the Deacon's soul.
Aldrich'sFaithful Rank 1 now gives the Archdeacon Great Staff.
Aldrich's Faithful Rank 2 now gives 3 Twinkling Titanites.
Transposing Kiln rework
Bosses with multiple items for transposing now only require regular souls for the second item, meaning you don't need NG+ to get all the items.
Character rebalancing
Base health has been increased by 15%. (Why? This is to make the Ember more of a nice boost when you have it and less of a punishment when you don't have it)
Ember health boost has been decreased by 15%.
Base stamina regen is increased slightly.
You can now trade Titanite and Infusion Gems with other players in multiplayer.
Base physical defense has been slightly increased. (Why? Because Vitality, which regulates defense, is less levelled up due to the new changes to weight)
Misc changes
Blood is now red instead of grey.
Poison now deals a fixed damage instead of scaling on max health.
Fall Damage reduced by 80%.
Simple infusion now grants more FP per second.
You can now roll on most human-sized enemies.
Coins now last until death and not a fixed amount.
The Set of Thorns now deals much more damage.
Easier covenants
No more painful grinding of dozens of absurdly low drop rate items. Now you can buy them from the Shrine Handmaid!
Vertebra Shackle (Mortician's Ashes)
Wolf's Blood Swordgrass (Dreamchaser's Ashes)
Proof of a Concord Kept (Easterner's Ashes)
Pale Tongue (Paladin's Ashes)
Sunlight Medals (Excrement-covered Ashes)
Human Dregs (Grave Warden's Ashes)
Filianore's Spear Ornament (Xanthous Ashes)
Weapon Upgrade Rework
I always felt like the amount of Titanite needed for upgrades was too high. This mod changes it in the following way:
Normal weapons
1>2>3 Titanite Shards (up to +3)
1>2>3 Large Titanite Shards (up to +6)
1>2>3 Titanite Chunks (up to +9)
1 Titanite Slab (for +10)
Special weapons
Titanite slabs are not required anymore.
1>1>2>2>4 Twinkling Titanites
1>1>2>2>4 Titanite Scales
Shops changes
You can now buy Infusing Stones from the Shrine Handmaid after giving her specific Ashes:
Shriving Stone, Refined Gem, Raw Gem, Fire Gem (Available from start)
Crystal Gem, Blessed Gem, Deep Gem (Dreamchaser's Ashes)
All weapon and shield skills cost half the FP price of vanilla.
Because spell buffs can now be applied to all weapons, including infused ones, they have been nerfed slightly. They cost more FP and Stamina, and require slightly more Intelligence and Faith. Their flat damage is also slightly reduced.
Progression and map changes
These are a series of changes that I think would fit nicely:
Coals have been moved earlier in the game to allow for earlier infusions. The Giant's Coal is now found in the Cathedral of the Deep, while the Profaned Coal is now found in the Catacombs of Carthus.
Dusk Crown Ring: Reduces all spells' consumption by 15%. No health Reduction.
Stats Rings (Knight, Hunter, Scholar, Priestess) increase their stat by 10 points.
Pickle-Pee and Pump-a-Rump items rework
Some items have been changed, while others have been removed.
Firebomb -> 1 Ember
Black Firebomb -> 3 Embers
Lightning Urn -> Cleric's Sacred Chime
Homeward Bone -> 5 Alluring Skull + Call Over gesture
Seed of a Giant Tree -> 5 Budding Green blossoms
Prism Stone -> Speckled Stoneplated Ring
Vertebra Shackle -> removed
Mendicant Staff -> removed
Undead bone Shard -> Estus Flash Shard
Siegbräu -> Large Soul of an Unknown Traveler
The items related to Iron Set, Lucatiel's Mask, and Porcine Shield have also been removed. Those items are now on sale from Greirat after sendind him to pillage once.
Whips buff
All whips gain physical damage off luck.
Whips damage to poise and stamina has been increased significantly.
Whips' physical damage has been increased significantly to compensate their low speed.
Class Adjustments
Cleric: it now starts with Lightning Spear instead of Force. It starts with less Luck (9) and more Faith (20). It also starts with the Braille Divine Tome of Carim.
Sorcerer: it now starts with the Sage's Scroll.
Pyromancer: it now starts with the Great Swamp Pyromancy Tome.
