ASHMAKER IS OUT!!
For those not in the know it is the next evolution of this mod, this was already the most comprehensive summoning mod, Ashmaker takes it to another level. It resolves many of the issues of LoA while adding a whole heap of new features like a unified summon acquisition system in throwing pots to incinerate enemies and gain ashes, a Tome of Ashes Collection tracker, custom summons, fixes for radahn and tibia, dll settings options to tweak your experience and so much more.

Completion update:With Version 1.5 I have implemented every feature I wanted in Lord of ashes, this includes:
- Summoning anywhere
- Every enemy as a summon
- Ultra strong combo summons that can be earned and used for end game or ng+
- Summon evolutions
- Enhanced weakness and resistances and rebalances to maintain difficulty and ensure importance of decision making and problem solving
- A suite of gear, tears and talismans which grant buffing effects to your summons
- Arcane scaling for summon damage
From here I plan to use this complete version as a base for my next project. Stay tuned and join the

Feature update:Version 1.4 includes over 100 bug fixes... yes you read that right, a brilliant community member named carrot bug tested every summon and gave me the list, so here we are, now every summon should work. On top of that summon buffing gear has been added along with arcane scaling for summon damage so you can really have the summoner build you have been dreaming of. Those are the major things but check the articles for more details on this update.
I have also started a Kofi for anyone who wants to show thanks or support future updates, no pressure at all though, try the mod before considering whether you want to support.
https://ko-fi.com/todawnIntroductionElden Ring: Lord of Ashes is a summon and balance mod which aims to bring (almost*) every enemy into the game as a summon (Base game and DLC). In order to facilitate this and avoid the issue of summons making the game too easy an acquisition and costing system has been applied to all summons, various buffs have been applied to enemies while limits have been applied to the player - in order to make the summons an integral part of completing the game.
*Note: I have not included duplicates of characters like the Mohg- the omen, only Mohg lord of blood is summonable. I have also not included every variant of a Godrick soldiers and others like this. If there is sufficient interest or request in certain variants or combos I am happy to add them.Detailed list of what is Included:
- Over 450 new summons added into the game split into 5 tiers based on their Health pools and strength. Higher tiers cost more to summon. All summons can be levelled to lvl 10.
- Summons can be used anywhere*
*There are very few small spots on the map where you can't summon. - Two systems for summons acquisition
- Most Tier 1 and 2 summons (general non-boss enemies you find in the world) will drop their summon as loot when defeated.
(Prior to Altus expect these to be your bread and butter)
- Most Tier 3 and 4 summons must be purchased from Twin maiden husks or Enia and many will cost a rare item as a material to purchase, meaning you will have to defeat the enemy to get it.
E.g. NPC weapon to buy the NPC, remembrance to get a remembrance boss.
Summon buffing gear: There are a range of talismans, crystal tears and a few weapons, shields and armour that grant buffs to summons\
Enemy buffs and balance changes
- Enemies all have 200% health except duo bosses which have 150%
- Weaknesses and resistances have all been amplified. This means the damage difference between a resisted damage type vs a weak damage type will be much more impactful
- Elemental type additions. Various enemies have had elemental damage added to their attacks.
- Resistance to OP status effects like bleed, frostbite and rot have been doubled.
- Bleed has been nerfed to 10% health + 50hp.
- Poison damage output has been sped up. Normal Poison deals its full damage in 30 seconds, deadly poison duration extended to 45 seconds.
Summon Enhancements
- Base game summons costs were increased and multipliers were lowered.
- New levelling adjustments for summons. Lower tiers get higher multipliers to stop them from becoming redundant as the game progresses.
- If an enemy had an elemental type added, the summon will have it too.
e.g. Godrick soldiers deal fire damage to you as an enemy, so Godrick soldier summons deal fire damage to your enemies.
- Remembrance Bosses have a minor evolution at lvl 6. Materials will be required for the upgrade and once upgraded they gain bonus elemental or status damage on their attacks.

Handy Tip: You can look in the Twin Maiden Husks shop for boss summons to prepare for tough battles.
Player Character impacting changes
- Lvl up costs for the player has been tripled to prevent over levelling - you will need to rely on the strength of your summons to survive.
- Seal and staff upgrade costs drastically increased to balance synergy of spell-casting and summons.
- Somber weapons upgrade costs increased and ancient smithing stone weapons require half the stones to upgrade.
Reason: Promotes using different weapons while keeping your damage output lower for longer.
- Smithing Stones and Grave Glovewort pickups from tunnels/mines and catacombs have been doubled.
Reason: Promotes trying out different weapons and summons without feeling too limited on upgrade materials.
- Character starting stamina increased by 10 and weapon weights reduced to ½.
Reason: Allows you to carry more weapons and swap between them to maximise effectiveness of weaknesses and reduces need for valuable level ups on stamina.
- Character starting stats increased to be able to wield the basic starting weapons Mace, Short Spear, Scimitar and Battle Axe. This means each character has at least 12 STR and 13 DEX. Each character starts with a weapon capable of doing each damage type so you can play with weaknesses immediately.
- Greases duration doubled.
- Great runes rebalanced to make it a more valid choice between which to use and each gives certain effects to summons.
- Godrick's great rune effect nerfed to +3 to all attributes
- Radahn's great rune effect enhanced to 20% (from 15%) for mind and Vigor to ensure it outperforms Godricks great rune effect.
- Morgott's great rune HP boost increased to 30% (from 25%).
Casual Play (ER_Summons_Only)A second Mod file called ER_Summons_Only is included for those who want to play base Elden Ring with all the summons, but without all the balance changes. The changes in this version are:
- All summons, upgradeable to lvl 10 with evolutions etc
- Acquisition system of drops for tier 1 and 2 and shops for tier 3 and 4
- Summon anywhere
- Base spirit summons costs increased to be in line with Lord of Ashes mod summons.

Installation
- Download the desired version of the mod from the files section (either LoA or Summons Only)
- Download Alt Saves and follow their install instructions
- Download Modengine2
- Perform 1 of the following options. a or b.
a. Copy the contents from inside the ER_LoA folder (has the regulation bin file) into a folder called "mod" inside the modengine2 folder.
or
b. i) Copy the ER_LoA folder into the modengine2 folder (not the mod folder).
ii) Then open config_eldenring.toml with a text editor and replace
path = "mod" with path = "ER_LoA"
- Ensure steam or the platform you play on is open.
- double click launchmod_eldenring.bat file.
- If you are having trouble join the Discord Server. There is a channel with more detailed instructions and photos and people to help if you are still stuck.
Recommended modsElden Ring Alt Saves!!!!!I STRONGLY recommend this mod. Just keeps your modded saves separate to your vanilla saves and it works seamlessly. If you load your LoA save file within the vanilla game, all your summon items will be deleted AND enemies that have already dropped their summon wont drop it again.
